Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things
Cream colored ponies and crisp apple strudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favorite things
Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver white winters that melt into springs
These are a few of my favorite things
When the dog bites
When the bee stings
When I'm feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don't feel so bad

The inspiration for my blog title...I was taught this song when I was in middle school at St. Ann's High School. I vividly remember the day our music teacher taught us this song. I had not heard about the Sound of Music until then. As a little girl in India, who had no clue what apple strudels or schnitzels were, who had never seen snowflakes, these lyrics captured my imagination then...and to this day it fascinates me. I could not think of a more apt title for my blog about all my favorite things.
I am an engineer by degree and a research associate by profession, but coming from a family full of creative minds, I have always believed that there is a creative side to me and this blog is my attempt to capture my journey as I embark on finding my creative side.
